In the last six months of being the Vice-Moderator of the 218th General Assembly, I have had some great experiences. Whether its leading Bible Study, preaching ordination/installation services, leading discussions or just being present, I have learned a whole lot about the church and the faithfulness to God's mission while dealing with some of the denominational issues that are very contentious. I have been strengthened in my faith to see Presbyterians going about doing the Lord's work in all areas of the church.
However I have learned in all things that evaluation is key to seeing what you have done, what you can do better and how to get there. So, following in Bruce's footsteps (click here) I would like to ask you "How am I doing?" For those of you that have seen me in action as well as you who have followed me only by blog, I would like for you to consider:
* What would you affirm that I am doing?
* What/where do I need to improve?
* What would you like for me to talk about that you have not heard so far? What are some of the issues that need to be brought into the forefront?
* What would you like to know about me?
* What can the office of Vice-Moderator bring to the larger church?
* What would you like to see happen in the next 18 months?
* Or feel free to ask or mention any other question/comment that comes to mind!
As Bruce and I begin the next 18 months, we will try to be faithful to the voices of the church while prayerfully discerning where God is leading us to do and say. So although I cannot promise I will incorporate your suggestion, I can say that I am willing to listen and affirm you, your comments and your Christian walk. I definitely look forward to your questions and comments!
